Sophie's passion for cooking began when as a child on the Indian subcontinent and accompanying her father to the local market each weekend to buy fresh fruits, vegetables, and spices with which her mum could work her magic. In 1996 Sophie moved to Portland, Oregon, where she worked for a land conservation organization and, in her free time became very involved with the farmers’ market scene, and where she continues to create her chutneys.
